-
Under the Inventory
module click on “Warehouse Management”.
- The warehouse management screen lets you maintain all storage locations for your products. To use this feature, you must have “Use Inventory” turned on in the control panel Mobile Inventory Settings.
- Typically, your products are stored on shelves that can be on racks which are in your warehouse. To further organize your inventory, you can setup multiple storage locations. Storage locations can be bins, shelves, racks, skids, rooms, or warehouses. Adding or deleting warehouses is performed through the Warehouses feature in the Administration menu.
- Before you can add a storage location, you must first specify where the storage location will exist. This is called a Parent Location.
- Lets specify a parent location. Click on the “Add Location” button. From the window that is displayed, you will be prompted to specify a parent location for the new location being added. If this is the first location you are adding, the parent location should be the warehouse. If your warehouse will have a single storage location, a box, named “My Storage”, choose “Box” as the Location Type and specify “My Storage” as its description. Specify your choice of Non-Listable, e-commerce ready, or Retail Store Shelf. When you are ready to add the location, press the “Add Location” button.
Adding a Storage Location
- In the diagram on the left pane, a graphical layout of your storage locations for the current warehouse is displayed. At the top of the list, your current warehouse is the parent of all storage locations you define. Newly added storage locations will be added from top-left to bottom right. Storage locations created inside existing storage locations can be referred to as storage sub-locations. When added, storage sub-locations will appear to exist inside existing locations in the diagram.
- In addition to adding generic storage locations, you also have the option to add racks. A rack is similar to a storage location with the exception that it can have multiple shelves. To add a rack to your warehouse, press “Add Rack”. Racks are labeled with an Identifier, a name that you specify for the rack. To subdivide the rack into separate storage locations, you could specify the number of shelves the rack will have and each shelf will be treated as a separate storage location.
- Editing a storage location allows you to change the parent location for it or change the settings. To modify the settings for a storage location, select the location you would like to modify from the left pane and press the “Edit Location” button. After you have finished specifying the details for the location, press “Update Location”.
-
Under the
Inventory module click on “Warehouse Management”.
- Select the storage location of your choice.
- On the right pane of the warehouse manager, click on “Show Products”.
- You will then be redirected to the Inventory search page which will show you all products that are stored on the selected storage location.
