Applying customizable user permissions can help manage your employees much better. You can limit and grant access to almost every section of Laris.
Procedure
How to Set Permissions
1. Please see the Creating Users Wiki Page to learn how to add a new user to Laris.
2. In the User Management Details screen, scroll down to the bottom where is shows you the “User Role”.
3. Select User if creating or modifying a user.
4. You will see a list of permission categories below. By default a user has no privileges.
5. The drop down list will present you with three options: Disable, Read Only, Full Access and Custom.
Read Only
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to have very limited access to your system. This will allow the user to browse through the selected module. The user can not at any time make an update or a change to your system. This setting will apply to all sub permissions.
Full Access
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to have full control for the selected module. This will give the user the ability to commit and issue any change, discount, delete, and so on. This setting will apply to all sub permissions.
Custom
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to customize access for a particular user. You may select which permissions best fit the user using this option.
Disable
This option will deny a user right to access the selected module.
6. Select Custom from the drop down. You now can enable or disable permissions, once complete, click “Update” at the very bottom of the form.
If you are wondering what each permission might do, here is a definition/explanation of each permission.
Definitions
Delete Products
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete products from your inventory. NOTE: a message dialog box will appear upon the deletion of a product for mandatory input for reason of deletion.
Reporting
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view the list of all reports associated with your Laris account.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to export reports to a file.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view all refunds given by your company.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view all expense reports provided to you by Laris.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view historical and current billing reports provided for you by Laris.
Shipping
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view processed shipments for the past and present.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to print processed shipping labels.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to void processed shipping labels.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to process shipping labels for paid products and orders.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to combine products into a shipment. (NOTE: combine shipment option must be enabled in wizard for this permission to appear)
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to create a shipment manually utilizing the Laris shipment Module as stand alone shipping software.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to products to a newly created manual shipment.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to issue an End of Day that will send all shipment data to your configured shipping courier.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to export shipments to a file. Used to integrate other shipping couriers and for archiving purposes.
Warehouses
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view a list of all configured warehouses.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to create new warehouses.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to modify the properties of a warehouse profile.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete a warehouse. NOTE: if active products exist in warehouse location, the warehouse will not be able to be removed until the products are stored elsewhere.
Discounts
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view all active discounts issued.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to issue new discount for buyer(s).
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to modify the properties of a discount.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete discounts issued to buyers.
Customers
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view the list of all customers in your database.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to export all/selected group of customer records to a .CSV or .XLS file.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to add a new customer to your database.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to update and modify customer profiles.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete customers for your database.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to modify and add a discount to a particular customer profile. The assigned discount will always stay active until removed. When the customer checks out, they will always receive the specified discount set by you for future purchases.
Orders
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view all active and closed orders.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to modify and apply changes to an order.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete an order from the system.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to create a new order.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to place an order on hold. NOTE: User will be prompted to input expiration date and reason for placing the order on hold.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to remove an order from its held status.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to add products to an existing order.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to remove products from an existing order. NOTE: User will be prompted with options for the removal. i.e.: “Charge Restocking Fee?”
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to issue tax exemptions for qualified buyers.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to divide an order. NOTE: This option is useful when wanting to split an order in to parts for the purpose of shipping items to different locations.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to select multiple orders for the purpose to initiate a mass option change on multiple orders.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to issue a discount for a particular order. i.e.: shipping discount or order discount.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to remove a issued discount from an order.
Auctions
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view a list of all active auctions currently on your system.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to select multiple auctions for the purpose to initiate a mass changes. i.e.: select auctions, and then chose an action to end selected auctions or change listing duration or price. NOTE: auction options may be changed if auction has not past the 12 hour listed mark and if it has no bids.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to export selected records to a file.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to select a group of items in order to list them on an auction selling venue.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to override the default setting for launch options from the wizard. This permission will take precedence.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view items that are ready to list to auction venue.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view a list of auctions that have not been paid for within the amount of days specified by you in the wizard setup.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view a list of auctions that have not yet been paid for.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to auctions that have unsold and have been re-listed.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to return unsold and canceled auctions back to inventory.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to end auctions from auction selling venue.
Inventory

This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view total quantity currently available of an item in inventory.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to reprint a product label & barcode.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to place a product on hold. (CSR staff might want to reserve items and place them on hold for the purpose of issuing replacements). Users will be prompted to enter a reason for the hold placement.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to release a product from hold. This option will make the released item available to list on multiple venues.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to add a product bundle to your inventory.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to select a group of inventory items for the purpose of merging them into a single product bundle. This option is useful when you find that you can receive more money and increase sales for items that do not normally sell online. Therefore bundling them or teaming them up with other non-sellable items might benefit you.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to access your warehouse manager. NOTE: The Inventory system must be enabled for this option to become active.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to add a new inventory entry into your system.
This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to increase or decrease the quantity of a product within the inventory search page list.

This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to delete a storage location. NOTE: If active products exist in warehouse location, the warehouse will not be able to be removed until the products are stored elsewhere.

This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to view a list of storage locations in your warehouse manager. NOTE: The Inventory system must be enabled for this option to become active.

This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to remove items for the purpose of shipping. This procedure is called the Scan/Release measure.

Quality Assurance (All In One must be disabled)

This permission will grant/deny a user with the ability to override default wizard settings for listing options. This permission will take precedence of the setting in the wizard for launch options.
