| Definition: Enter predefined box sizes you wish to use for your shipments. When entering dimensions for your products you will then be displayed with a compatible list of boxes you can use for that product. Instead of specifying the product dimensions - you can simply select a predefined size (based on the box size).
-
Packaging Materials:
This section will allow you to predefine box sizes you wish to use for your
shipments. Box sizes become useful when having to enter the dimensions for
a particular product that you are measuring. When measuring a product, some
companies choose to purchase boxes of various different sizes. Entering the
box sizes will make things a little easier for you by allowing you to select
a predefined box size when measuring your product after packaging. This
process will further minimize the time involved for measuring your products.

Weight
-
Packaging
boxes all have a maximum weight that the box can support.
If an item’s weight is too heavy for the selected box size,
the system will automatically prompt your to select a more
suitable box size. Even though your package will fit into
the selected box size, if your item’s weight exceeds the set
amount, the system will prevent you from placing the package
in an incompatible box.
-
Inaccuracy
-
This feature
will enable you to enter a value that will give you leniency
when packaging your item. For example: If your box size is
5x5x5 (LxWxH) entering 1 (Inch) in this field will demote
your 5x5x5 box size to 4x4x4. The box size will still be
5x5x5 but the entered value of 1” will allow for 1” of
packaging material addition to your box.
