Our discount management system is a great Customer Service tool and can easily help you calm down complaining or unhappy buyers with store credit, or offer coupons to drive higher sales. You can have unlimited discounts and control over all aspects of the different sales you can run.
First, let's create a Discount.
- On the Manage Discounts page, click on the
icon, to Create a New Discount.
- Choose a Discount Type.
- Global Discount - These discounts will apply any time that an order falls within the specified criteria.
- Product Promotion - You can set up discounts that will only apply to specific products, as well as the criteria you specify. For instance, "Purchase over $200, and buy this item, and you'll receive a shipping discount!".
- Store Credit - you can give any customer a specified level of credit. This will be applied as they check out and give them an automatic coupon.
- Returning Customer - These discounts will only apply to customers that are already in the Manage Customers CRM system. They had to have purchased from you before.
- These definitions apply to Global Discounts
- Discount Category - Choose between a shipping price discount, or a purchase price discount.
- Selling Venue - Choose which venue this discount will be associated with.
- Discount Title - Give your Discount a title.
- Minimum quantity in order - This feature will limit the discount to only trigger if there are at least this number of items in the order.
- Minimum purchase amount - You can optionally choose to have a minimum order value to trigger a discount. For example, "Order over $250, and receive free shipping!"
- Maximum discount amount - You can specify a maximum discount amount, for instance, a 25% discount on a $200 order would be $50, but if you put $25, in this field, the discount would only be $25.
- Discount Rate - Choose the discount rate, in dollars or a percentage.
- Expires On - You can have coupon codes expire on a specified date. This is great for seasonal promotions.
- Discount Description - You can specify a description for your discount in order to help you keep track of discounts when you have many.
- Discount Combinable - You can choose to make the discount combinable with other offers or not combinable with other discount codes.
- Discount number must be entered on checkout - This option will make the discount happen automatically when the other criteria is met, or require that the buyer inputs the discount code during the checkout process.
