When you add a product from the Add Inventory Item menu, there are a few different ways to add an item into inventory.

Add product by selecting a model/type

You can build your product catalog by using this feature.

1. On the left side there are four drop down menus. If the Product Classifications drop down menu is blank, or results in an error, visit step 18 of the control panel – Product Classification Categories to choose your default Product Classification Categories.

2. After choosing a category, fill in the rest of the drop down menus. You can populate the drop down menus with the Image:Icon_add.gif tag symbol next to each drop down menu. You are essentially building a catalog of items. This saves time in many ways, and you should consider using this feature if you have many similar products with slight variations. If you wish to delete a catalog entry, click on the Image:Icon_delete.gif delete icon.

BEST PRACTICE: A liquidation company that sells electronics, might get a pallet of IPOD returns. Each has the same manufacturer and model number but some have different included parts. You can simplify adding these products into inventory because as you run across a repeat, you don’t need to take more photos, create a new description or even type a new title. The catalog entry will show up automatically and you can list to eBay much faster.

3. NOTE: There are two different types of Product Details screens that you might see at this point. One is a scaled down version and one if the All-In-One Entry screen. You can opt to use either one if you visit Step 3 of the control panel – Inventory Entry & Vero Settings. The first check box will enable All-In-One entry or disable it. The difference is that the All-In-One Entry is a full Product Details screen and using the default setting allows you to add a subset of information. You can customize this setting based on the type of business you run.

4. The Product Details screen contains all of the information for the item in question. Go through and add in all relevant information, if applicable.

5. Click Add Products

6. If you have the option turned on, your Zebra LP2844 Label printer will print out a barcoded label for your product with the fields that you specify in Step 2 of the Control Panel – Mobile Inventory Settings.

7. Now you can view and manage your new inventory item by:

a. Mouseover Inventory

b. Click on Manage / Search Inventory

8. From this screen you can search your inventory, and perform multiple actions to manipulate your inventory. For more information, see the managing inventory procedure/tutorial.

You can use this option to add inventory by:

  • UPC
  • ISBN
  • Existing Laris Barcode

This option will search the eBay database for UPC or ISBN, and your existing inventory for product entries.

Adding Inventory with Inventory Spreadsheet

1. If you have an existing inventory system or hundreds of products to add into Laris at once, it is recommended that you use our inventory import system. This is especially useful for any businesses using a dropshipping company for distribution.
2.First, you need to download the Laris inventory import spreadsheet which you can find it here.
3.Now use the Excel columns that have comments in them to guide you through filling out the spreadsheet.
4. To upload your inventory:

  • Go to Manage / Search Inventory.
  • In the Choose an action drop down menu, choose Import Products from file / Product feed.
  • The top section is to import new inventory. You can import ~7,000 products in one file.
  • The middle section is to update existing inventory (PRODUCT IDs are REQUIRED to update inventory!)
  • You can import product images with the third section. Please note: all existing images for the items that are specified in the excel file will be overwritten.

The worksheet that you are importing (not the filename, the WORKSHEET) name, must be called IMPORT. Image:Import_example.gif
